Who Can Access Orland Park Death Records
Illinois law restricts access to certified death certificates. Under 410 ILCS 535/24, certified copies are available to the deceased's spouse, parent, child, grandparent, or sibling. Others who have a direct and tangible interest, such as estate attorneys or those with a court order, may also receive a certified copy.
You must show proof of identity and your relationship to the deceased at the time of request. If you do not qualify for a certified copy, a genealogical copy is available for deaths that occurred more than 20 years ago. These copies are not certified and cannot be used for legal or financial purposes.

Pay by cash (in person), check, or money order. Checks must be made payable to the Cook County Clerk. Never send cash by mail.
